Education for Health Care Professionals

A collaboration to advance education

National Sleep Foundation and Medscape have collaborated on an educational activity titled Therapeutic Considerations in Obstructive Sleep Apnea: Understanding Treatment Options in Adults.

This educational activity is intended for an audience of primary care physicians, cardiologists, pulmonologists, neurologists, and surgeons in the United States.

The goal of this activity is that learners will be better able to identify patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) who may benefit from knowledge of the range of treatment options, such as upper airway stimulation (UAS).

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:
  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Health-related consequences of undertreated OSA
    • Clinical factors involved in the selection of treatments for the management of OSA
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Identify patients with OSA who may benefit from UAS
